-
- Purists are horrified because HTML is not a page-layout language.
- The purpose of the thing is not to say "my page must look like this
- on your browser". But Netscape has so bastardized HTML that it's
- pretty much a moot point, I think.
-
- But I agree that the Amiga needs a browser that can view
- Netscape-ism-ed :) pages. Unfortunately for browser developers,
- Netscape isn't givin' out their code, and they could give
- a rat's ass about Amiga users. So it's up to Amiga developers
- to reverse-engineer the whole NHTML mess if we want to see these
- things in native mode.
-
- Now, if Amiga Tech were to go wave money under Netscape's nose and
- say "port an Amiga version for us" who knows. But as John Candy
- said in Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, we'd have better luck
- playing Pick-Up-Sticks with our butt cheeks.
-
- In the meantime, we've got AWeb which is pretty damn nice, and
- IBrowse which will be even nicer when the bugs are all worked
- out, and if you must see Netscaped pages, you've got ShapeShifter
- Mac emulation which will handle Netscape 2.0 just fine.
